Dimitri Cadet is a graduate student in the UCLA-Caltech MSTP and the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology. He received a B.A. Biochemistry at Columbia University in the City of New York. During his undergraduate years, he worked as a research assistant with Dr. Martin Chalfie to identify novel pathways for drug resistance in parasitic helminths and with Dr. Marko Jovanovic to develop a novel, high-throughput technology to monitor protein-protein interactions using combinatorial antibody barcoding, next-generation sequencing, and mass-spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics. He is currently investigating the molecular pathways in glioblastoma (GBM) responsible for short-term adaptations to chemotherapeutics and EGFR inhibition, with the goal of developing novel, targeted combination therapies. He is also developing a workflow for the proteomic and phosphoproteomic analysis of the GBM model systems used in the Nathanson Lab.
