Jack Freeland is a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology. He received his B.S. degrees in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Arkansas, where he worked with Dr. Yong Wang to develop biosensors for measuring mechanical stress in DNA in response to drugs and other small molecules. He also performed research under Dr. Joseph Rodriguez at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and Dr. Antonio Adamo at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). He went on to earn his Ph.D. at UCLA in the lab of Dr. Thomas Graeber, where he leveraged large-scale multi-omics and functional data to identify cancer drivers and therapeutic targets. In the Nathanson Lab, he is currently building scalable, reproducible genomic analysis pipelines and integrating multimodal data to identify biomarkers that stratify patients undergoing EGFR-targeted therapy in glioblastoma.
